School District Finalizes $11.6 Million Dollar Deal To Buy Santa Barbara National Guard Armory

A South Coast school board approved an $11.6 million dollar deal to buy a surplus military facility in downtown Santa Barbara.

The Santa Barbara School District Tuesday night finalized its end of a deal to buy the Santa Barbara National Guard Army property. It’s a nearly five acre chunk of land between Santa Barbara High School, and Santa Barbara Junior High School.

The district is looking at different options for the use of the property, which it has been trying to buy for decades.
