Plane Crashes On Highway 101 In Agoura Hills; No One Hurt But Highway 101 Closed

A vintage plane made an emergency landing on Highway 101 in Agoura Hills Tuesday afternoon, catching on fire after it hit the center divider.

The plane went down just before 2 p.m. on the westbound 101, near Liberty Canyon.  The pilot was able to escape from the plane, and no one on the ground was hurt.

The aircraft was a World War II era T-6 plane, flying out of Van Nuys Airport.  It was painted like a German military aircraft, but was actually an American aircraft.

Highway 101 is closed in both directions between Agoura Hills and Calabasas, a closure which could be in effect through the evening commute.
