It’s an animal neglect, and possibly animal abuse case that has people in Santa Barbara County angry, and upset.

An injured, emaciated Bay Throroughbred mare was dumped by someone on the 6000 block of Dominion Road, southwest of Santa Maria.

The horse has open abscesses on her neck, abrasions on her back, and other injuries.

Stacy Silva, with Santa Barbara County Animal Services, says they are asking for the public’s help in identifying whoever dumped the horse October 18th.

They were driving a tan colored Suburban with a brown and white trailer. Silva says the horse has serious medical issues, but is expected to survive.
