Woman Seriously Injured During Police Pursuit On South Coast

A woman was seriously injured in a hit and run accident in Montecito during a police pursuit.

Ventura Police officers noticed a car they thought was being driven recklessly just after 4 p.m. Tuesday. When they tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled northbound on Highway 101.

The car got off the freeway in Montecito, and struck a 58 year old woman on Butterfly Lane north of Channel Drive. Jennifer Jensen of Conover, North Carolina suffered a broken arm and internal injuries.

The fleeing car then crashed into a wall. Two people in the vehicle were taken into custody at the scene, and a third person, believed to be the driver, was arrested at gunpoint about two hours later.
