Quake Rocks Much Of LA Basin, But No Damage Reported; Barely Felt In Ventura County

An earthquake which was widely felt in the Los Angeles basin caused some minor shaking in Ventura County. The magnitude 4.4 quake occurred at 7:33 Tuesday night, and was centered in La Verne, about 25 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. No injuries or damage was reported.

It was followed by a magnitude 3.4 quake a minute later. Some of the heaviest shaking was reported in the Pomona area.

About two dozen people reported feeling the quake in eastern Ventura County.
