Hundreds of hardware store employees on the Central and South Coasts are going to lose their jobs by the end of the year, because the chain is going out of business.
Orchard Hardware Supply will close all 99 of its stores in California, Oregon, and Florida by the end of the year. OSH is owned by the Lowe’s home improvement store chain. In announcing the shutdown plans, Lowe’s officials said the smaller chain wasn’t doing well.
OSH has five stores on the Central and South Coasts. They are in Thousand Oaks, Goleta, Santa Maria, Pismo Beach and Paso Robles.
The company says it will provide job assistance for workers losing their jobs, and will give them priority for openings at Lowe’s locations.
