Investigators now say what appeared to be the suspicious death of a man in Ventura County now looks like it was accidental.
Ventura County firefighters called to put out a pickup truck fire Saturday night in Moorpark found a man’s body inside.
But, the Medical Examiner’s office determined that Kevin McKervey had died of natural causes. It’s believed he collapsed in the truck and died, and a cigarette he had been smoking then started the vehicle fire.
The pickup had been parked behind a shopping center on Los Angeles Avenue.
