High Brush Fire Danger Prompts New Fire Restrictions On Los Padres National Forest

High brush fire danger has led to even tougher fire restrictions in the Los Padres National Forest taking effect Thursday.

Because of the potential for dangerous fires, charcoal and wood fires have been completely banned in the National Forest, even in campgrounds.

The ban even applies to people with California Campfire permits.  People with permits can use gas, jellied petroleum, or liquid fuel stoves and lanterns in designated campground areas.

Target shooting is banned except for those with special use permits.  Hunting is still allowed for people with hunting licenses.
