Legislators Holding Public Hearing On South Coast About Wildfire Prevention And Recovery

Two state legislators are holding a public hearing on the South Coast this week to look at wildfire prevention and recovery efforts.

Democratic State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson of Santa Barbara and Democratic State Assemblywoman Monique Limon of Santa Barbara are hosting Thursday’s hearing.

The event comes the week of the six month anniversary of the Thomas Fire, the massive blaze in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties which also set the stage for massive flooding in January. Local and state officials are set to testify at the join State Senate-State Assembly committee hearing at Montecito Union School.

The public will also be able to make comments at the hearing, which starts at 4 p.m. Thursday.
