Jail Escapee On Central Coast Now Back Behind Bars

Authorities say a man who escaped from a Central Coast jail facility didn’t get to enjoy his freedom for long.

Timothy Powers walked away from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office Honor Farm Wednesday night.

Investigators say the 20 year old man removed an ankle monitor, and walked away from the minimum security facility.

A search was started, and Thursday morning deputies stopped a vehicle in the San Miguel area they thought might be associated with the escapee.

They found and arrested Powers, who was a passenger. They also arrested the driver, Claudia Penaloza, on a conspiracy charge. Powers had been on jail in theft charges.
