Confrontation Between Two Men In Ventura County Leaves One Fatally Injured

Detectives are trying to sort out what led to a violent confrontation in Ventura County between two men which left one of them dead.

It happened at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 400 block of South Victoria Avenue in Oxnard.

Oxnard Police were called to the scene by reports of a person being hit by a vehicle at a gas station. They found a seriously injured man on the ground, and a parked car with significant front end damage. The Oxnard man later died at a hospital.

Investigators believe a 31 year old man who was in an adjacent parking lot was involved in the confrontation. They also found a replica gun on the ground in the area.

Detectives don’t think anyone else was involved. Neither of the men is being identified yet.
