Unemployment At Lowest Levels In Decades On Central, South Coasts And Statewide

Unemployment on the Central and South Coasts, and statewide has fallen to some of the lowest levels in decades.

In Ventura County, the jobless rate went from an already low 3.6% in March to 3.2% in April. Santa Barbara County’s unemployment rate dropped nearly a full percent from month to month, going from 4.4% to 3.5%.

And, San Luis Obispo County had the lowest unemployment rate in the region, going from 2.9% in March to 2.6% in April.

The statewide jobless rate is the lowest it’s been in more than 40 years. It was 4.2% in April, down from 4.3% in March.
