Search For Evidence In Disappearance Of Central Coast Woman Leads To Discovery Of Human Remains

A search for evidence in the disappearance of a woman on the Central Coast led to the discovery of a body, but it’s still uncertain if the remains are those of the person who was the focus of the effort.

Kristen Marti was last seen in San Luis Obispo County January 9th.

Witnesses last saw the 26 year old woman in a parked car with an unidentified man on the 1800 block of Perfumo Canyon Road. She hasn’t been heard from by family or friends since.

San Luis Obispo Police organized a massive followup search of the area, involving more than 50 people and six K-9 teams. During Sunday’s search, the remains of a person, possibly a woman’s were found in a creek bed near the road. The identity of the person hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Meanwhile, detective say they think they’ve identified the man last seen with Marti before her disappearance, but are stopping short of calling him a suspect in the case.
