A Ventura County woman received a jail sentence and has been order to pay more than $120,000 in restitution for a medical insurance claims scam.
Prosecutors say Anna Maria Ruiz of Ojai pled guilty to 11 felony fraud charges. They say she used her knowledge of the medical field to submit more than two dozen phony insurance claims, stealing close to $130,000 dollars.
She was sentenced to seven months in jail, put on six years probation, and ordered to pay back the money she took.
