Man Arrested After SWAT Incident In Ventura County

Efforts by police to catch a wanted man in Ventura County led to a barricade incident involving a SWAT team.

An Oxnard Police detective spotted Mario Sanchez Wednesday afternoon on E Street. Efforts to arrest him were unsuccessful, and he barricaded himself in a home.

Police at first tried to get him to surrender, and when that failed they used tear gas. Ultimately, he was arrested with the help of a police K-9.

Sanchez was arrested for possession of a stolen motorcycle, resisting arrest and for the felony warrant which originally made him a wanted man.
