Ventura County Highway Open Again After Four Hour Closure Due To Fatal Accident

A Ventura County highway is open again after a three vehicle traffic collision left one person dead, and two injured.

The accident happened just after 11 a.m. Friday, on Highway 118 in the Saticoy area.

For some reason, a westbound truck crossing the Santa Clara River bridge was rear-ended by a westbound car. The car then swerved onto the eastbound side of the highway, and hit an oncoming vehicle head-on. The 73 year old Ventura woman driving the eastbound car was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name hasn’t been released.

The 118 was closed for about four hours by the accident.
