The next week could be soggy for the Central and South Coasts, but the latest forecast shows rainfall amounts are expected to be below the levels which would cause flash flood and debris flow concerns in burn areas.
A series of storms is headed towards the Central and South Coasts.
It starts with a chance of showers mainly north of Point Conception Thursday through Friday.
A bigger storm is coming Saturday night into Sunday. It could mean a half inch of rain on the coast, and more than an inch of rain for the mountains.
Santa Barbara County public safety officials say the thresholds are below that which would create flooding or debris flow concerns. So, there are no evacuation orders of any type at this point.
Smaller storms are expected to pass through the region on Monday, and again on Tuesday. There could be on and off rain through next Friday.
Meteorologists are concerned about the potential for a strong storm on March 16th, but they say it is still way too early to provide an accurate assessment. They say we’ll know more around the early part of next week.
