Ventura County Supervisor Wants County To Take Proactive Stand On Gun Control

A Ventura County supervisor wants the county to support federal gun control efforts.

County Supervisor Steve Bennett is asking fellow supervisors to endorse efforts for stronger federal laws.

Bennett’s proposal includes expanded background checks for gun buyers, restriction of sales to people convicted of violent crimes, and mandatory waiting periods on all gun purchases.

If supervisors decide to support the symbolic proposal, county officials would notify federal representatives of the county’s stance on the issue.
