Community Meeting On Flood, Debris Flow Preparedeness Set For Carpinteria

The latest in a string of community meetings to share the latest information on storm preparedness is set to take place Tuesday in Carpinteria.

Public safety officials in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties have been holding a series of meetings to share new maps on potential flood and debris flow zones.

They’re also trying to make sure people understand evacuation information. The meeting will take place at 6:30 Tuesday night at Carpinteria High School.

Meanwhile, crews are continuing efforts to clear debris basins, and creeks in Southern Santa Barbara County in the wake of the deadly 1/9 debris flow which killed 21 people, and left two missing.
