Unemplyment Drops Statewide; Mixed Picture On Central, South Coasts

New numbers just out today show that statewide unemployment dropped for the third month in a row, while the results are mixed on the Central and South Coasts.

California’s jobless rate went from 4.6% in November to 4.3% in December, with more than 50,000 new jobs created.

In Ventura County, the unemployment rate was at 3.8% in November and December. But, in Santa Barbara County the number of people out of work climbed from 3.7% in November to 4.4% in December. And, in San Luis Obispo County, the jobless rate also increased from month to month, going from 2.9% to 3.1%
