The death toll now stands at 17 people in Santa Barbara County in the wake of Tuesday’s massive storm which triggered flash floods, and debris flows in the region.

16 people are still missing.

Wednesday, searchers rescued three people. Firefighters say as of Wednesday night, they’ve searched about 75% of the damaged and destroyed homes for victims. The number of homes destroyed has been revised downward from 100 to 59, but nearly 450 homes are now listed as damaged.
