Investigators are trying to figure out why a woman led law enforcement officers on a wild, more than 60 miles chase in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties.
The pursuit started at about four a.m. Tuesday on Highway 126 near Newhall.
CHP officers tried to stop a car for speeding. The driver didn’t stop, and drove on Highway 126 into Ventura, and Highway 101 into Santa Barbara at speeds topping 120 miles an hour. The car got off the freeway at La Cumbre Road. It finally spun out of control at the intersection of Cathedral Oaks, and Turnpike Roads.
Karen Deselms was taken into custody without incident. CHP officers say the 56 year old woman wasn’t under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
