Driver Of Car Dies, Bus Driver Injured In Collision On South Coast

A 72 year old woman is dead after she lost control of her car, and collided with a bus on the South Coast.

The accident happened just after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, on Cliff Drive near Montecito Street in Santa Barbara. Police say the car was eastbound on Cliff Drive when it went up onto a sidewalk, hit a wall, and then bounced into opposing traffic. It collided with an oncoming bus.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she later died. Her name hasn’t been released yet. The driver of the Metropolitan Transit District bus suffered moderate injuries, but none of the 14 passengers on board were hurt.
