Governor Fills Vacant Judge's Post On South Coast

The Governor has filled a vacant Superior Court seat in Ventura County, appointing a long time attorney and Court Commissioner to the post.

JoAnn Johnson was sworn in today as a Ventura County Superior Court Judge. Johnson had been a Ventura Superior Court Commissioner since January of 2010. Before that, she was a Supervising Court Attorney with the Ventura Superior Court Family Law Self-Help Center for eight years.

Johnson has been involved with statewide efforts to deal with domestic violence, and has taught law school classes for more than a decade. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Donald Coleman earlier this year.
