Santa Barbara County Fire Chief Eric Peterson observes a moment of silence as the flag is lowered to half staff in Memorial Plaza for 9/11

The 9-11 attacks were commemorated around the country today, and here on the Central and South Coasts as well.

Many of the region’s local fire agencies honored those who died with ceremonies at fire stations.

Thousands of tiny flags were placed on the lawn of Camarillo’s Library as a tribute to the 9-11 victims.
