An arrest has been made in the murder of a woman in Ventura County, and detectives say it wasn't a random incident.
Peter Dirksen was arrested in Northern California last month for a probation violation in Los Angeles County. But, he was also a suspect in the killing of Barbara Brattin, whose body was found in a Port Hueneme motel room July 30th.
Port Hueneme Police got an arrest warrant, and this week the 37 year old man was transferred from Los Angeles to the Ventura County Jail.
Detectives aren’t talking about motives in the killing, and haven’t released details about how the 61 year old woman died.
