A Santa Barbara County woman believed to be the victim of a kidnapping may now be in Las Vegas.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives say Virginia Paris was abducted in Solvang Friday night.

Investigators think her ex-boyfriend, Joseph Hetzel took the 52 year old Lompoc woman, and forced her to drive east in the woman’s car. Sunday morning, the pair was spotted in a Goodyear, Arizona coffee shop. Then Monday, they were seen checking out of a motel in Valle, Arizona. Investigators think they were headed toward Las Vegas.

Hetzel has served prison time, and investigators think he may be armed. Friends of the Lompoc woman say she had been getting a restraining order against the 52 year old man.
