Man Wanted In Central Coast Amber Alert Case Fatally Wounded; Son Safe, Unhurt

Missing boy from Central Coast found unharmed in San Fernando Valley

A man who was a person of interest in the killing of his wife on the Central Coast, and was accused of abducting his son is dead after a confrontation with police in the San Fernando Valley.

Santa Maria Police were called to the 200 block of North College Drive Monday night by reports of a shooting. A woman was founded dead, and her nine year old son, Daniel Morozov was missing.

An Amber Alert was issued for the boy and his father, Konstantin Morozov. Police found a vehicle Morozov was driving in a Santa Barbara neighborhood Tuesday afternoon. Acting on a tip, LAPD officers went to an Encino home looking for the man, and his son Tuesday night. Morozov was fatally wounded by police as he left the home at around 6:45 p.m. The boy was unhurt.
