One of the newest plays headed to Broadway is putting a Ventura County community in the spotlight.
The Ojai Chamber of Commerce is going to want to send some big gift baskets to a Broadway theater. Comedy legend Steve Martin’s latest play is set in Ojai.
It’s called “Meteor Shower,” and is the story of the interactions of two couples watching a meteor shower in 1993. The play has had two runs, one in San Diego and one in New Haven, with mixed reviews. But, regardless of what critics say, it’s guaranteed to make a big media splash.
The current queen of comedy, Comedian Amy Schumer will co-star with comedian Keegan-Michael Key, from the sketch comedy show “Key and Peele,” and the Netflix show “Friends from College.” It’s the fourth Broadway show for Martin, who has been a longtime Montecito resident.
Previews for “Meteor Shower” are set to begin November 1st, with the premiere set for November 29th.
