Three people are dead following a head-on traffic accident on Highway 101 in Ventura County.
The crash happened at about midnight on the southbound 101 near Seaward Avenue, in Ventura. CHP officers say a vehicle somehow ended up on the freeway going the wrong direction, leading to the crash.
Two people were killed in one vehicle, and one person died in the other, with all three people pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident disrupted traffic on the southbound 101 for more than six hours.
