A Ventura County man is facing attempted murder, animal cruelty, and burglary charges after investigators say he killed a woman’s dog, and attacked her with a garden tool.
Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies say the incident happened on the14000 block of Peach Tree Road in Moorpark Wednesday morning.
Detectives say the victim had hired Abel DeJesus Monroy to do some work at her home. But, they say the 27 year old Santa Paula man tried to attack a coworker, killed the woman’s dog, and attacked and seriously injured the 59 year old woman.
There’s no word on the motive for the attack.
