Sizzling Heat, Spike In Brush Fire Danger In Forecast For Central, South Coasts

Get ready for some sizzling weather, and increased brush fire danger on the Central and South Coasts.

A ridge of high pressure is going to hike temperatures Thursday through the middle of the weekend, with highs so hot it’s prompting National Weather Service excessive heat warnings for Friday and Saturday.

There could also be some thunderstorm activity, which could create moisture which will combine with the heat to make conditions muggy, and even more uncomfortable. Record high daytime temperatures are possible.

There are also sundowner winds in the forecast for southern Santa Barbara County, which means an increased brush fire danger.
