Sting Operation Targets People Operating As Contractors Without Licenses In Ventura County

A sting operation in Ventura County targeting people acting as contractors without proper licensing has resulted in 11 people being cited.

The state Contractors State License Board had undercover investigators pose as homeowners seeking improvements to a Newbury Park home. The law requires someone doing work with a combined cost of $500 in materials, and labor have a state license.

Ten of the 11 people were also cited for illegal advertising. Unlicensed contractors must state that in all advertisements.
