Four Arrested Following Pursuit On South Coast Suspects In Statewide String Of Commercial Burglaries

Detectives say four people arrested following a wild car chase in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties are suspects in a string of commercial burglaries and strong arm robberies stretching across the state.

The four people were spotted in Thousand Oaks Tuesday morning, and when law enforcement officers tried to pull over their car, they fled north on Highway 101. They were finally arrested in Gaviota, after spike strips blew out some of the vehicle’s tires.

Detectives say stolen items found in the vehicle linked them to some commercial burglaries in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties earlier this month. They say the burglars had been nicknamed the “Rainbow Crew” by investigators, and were responsible for more than a million dollars in thefts statewide.

The four Bay Area residents were arrested on charges ranging from conspiracy to commit a crime to burglary.
