A former state assemblyman from the South Coast has been re-elected for a fourth state term as chairman of a commission charged with trying to improve the efficiency of California’s government.
Pedro Nava has headed the Little Hoover Commission since 2013, when he was first appointed to the panel by the Speaker of the Assembly. Nava served in the State Assembly from 2004 to 2010, representing much of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. He's also a past member of the State Coastal Commission.
In recent years, the Little Hoover Commission has reviewed and made recommendations on issues ranging from the state’s medical programs to open meeting laws.
