Santa Barbara Mayor Helene Schneider, who is in her last year of service, is giving her final state of the city address today.
Schneider will most likely be upbeat about the desalination project coming online next month along with the the La Entrada project set to be ready for summer.
Another positive would be the strong tourism coming through the city, and the low numbers on major crimes.
Of concern will most likely be downtown business vacancies, affordable housing issues, broken roads, and the need for a new police station.
