Rose Parade Float Sweepstakes Trophy Presented To Ventura County Based Company

Dole Foods officials receive the 2017 Rose Parade Sweepstakes Trophy for their float "Spirit of Hawaii"

The 2017 Rose Parade may be history, but the sweepstakes trophy for most beautiful parade entry was presented to a Ventura County based company Tuesday.

It was a big day at Dole’s headquarters in Westlake Village. Dole’s 2017 Rose Parade Entry, called the “Spirit of Hawaii,” won the big prize, the “Sweepstakes Trophy,” for its float which featured a working waterfall and a volcano.

Bob Bartlett, the President of Dole Packaged Foods, says they’re proud to participate in the parade, which he says is a logical link between their wholesome family foods and the family friendly event.

Dole partnered with Oxnard based FOOD Share to help the non-profit raise food for tens of thousands of Ventura County residents who would otherwise go hungry daily.

Bonnie Atmore, FOOD Share’s President and CEO, says the food giant help bring new visibility to the local organization, helping it to gather and distribute even more food to those in need. Dole says it will continue its partnership with FOOD Share as it plans its 2018 float.
