Law Enforcement Agencies On Central, South Coasts Gear Up For St. Patrick's Day

We’ll be seeing a lot of green on the Central and South Coasts Friday because of St. Patrick’s Day, but law enforcement officials say you don’t want to end up seeing red as in a police car pulling you over on a DUI charge.

Many departments in the region are beefing up patrols because of the holiday, which some celebrate at bars. The City of Oxnard says it’s planning both saturation patrols and a DUI checkpoint.

This St. Patrick’s Day is expected to be especially busy with celebrations because it falls on a Friday. The message from law enforcement for tomorrow is simple: Plan ahead if you will be drinking, by having a designated driver or using a taxi, Uber or Lyft.
