Santa Barbara Congressman Authors Bill To Improve Healthcare For Military Members, Dependents

A congressman who represents parts of the Central and South Coasts has introduced legislation intended to improve health care for members of the military, and their families.

Democratic Congressman Salud Carbajal of Santa Barbara authored the “Strengthening Preventive Health Care For Service Members Act.”

The bill is intended to address gaps between military and civilian insurance requirements and coverage. It would give the Department of Defense the ability to immediately implement a number of recommendations made by a task force which looked at ways to improve preventive care.
