A man arrested and convicted of a sexual assault, and murder which occurred more than a quarter of a century ago in Ventura County will spend the rest of his life behind bars without the possibility of parole.
Silverio Ambriz was arrested in 2015 after being linked by DNA to the 1991 killing of Angela Fisher. Ambriz pled guilty to murder with special circumstances as well as three other counts, leading to his sentencing Monday.
He was already in state prison at the time of his arrest for the murder, after being convicted of sexually assaulting one woman, and trying to attack three others in a 1996 incident.
