Flight Service Expanding At Central Coast Airport

A Central Coast airport is getting some expanded airline service starting this summer.

United Airlines announced it will begin daily non-stop service from San Luis Obispo to Denver. The flights, to and from San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport will be operated by Sky West, which will use regional jets on the new route. The expansion in June is part of an effort by United to add 47 new daily round trip flights on domestic routes.

This is just the latest bit of good news for air travelers on the Central Coast. Alaska Airlines is adding non-stop service from San Luis Obispo to Seattle in April.

Airport officials have been working on expanding flight service for years, and construction is nearing completion on a new $35 million dollar plus terminal.
