Quake Rattles Parts Of South Coast

Parts of the South Coast got a pre-Christmas jolt from Mother Nature.

A magnitude 3.1 earthquake shook the Santa Barbara area early Saturday morning. The temblor was centered in the ocean about four miles southwest of Santa Barbara.

A number of people in the Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Carpinteria areas feeling the 6:15 a.m. quake. There were no injuries, and no damage was reported.
