Two South Coast university professors are being honored for their innovations, by being honored as fellows by the National Academy of Inventors.
UC Santa Barbara’s Larry Coldren and James Speck are being honored by the Academy. Coldren’s research has led to breakthrough in integrated photic devices, including tunable lasers. Speck has made cutting edge advances with photonic materials for LED’s.
Both researchers are part of UCSB’s College of Engineering’s Department of Materials.
