Man Arrested After Authorities Say He Threat To Blow Up Ventura County Courthouse

A Ventura County man authorities say was upset over being convicted of a traffic violation is facing much bigger problems today, after they say he threatened to blow up a county courthouse.

Ventura County Sheriff’s office officials say Joshua Gibson of Oxnard made a threat against the courthouse at the county’s Juvenile Justice Center, and also threatened to shoot an officer. It prompted a search for a device Thursday morning, but nothing was found.

The 31 year old Oxnard man was arrested on a charge of making criminal threats.
