Ventura County Forum Looks At Possibility Of Bringing Desalination Technology To Region

Ventura County looking at possibility of using desalination technology in the county at Thursday night forum

The drought is forcing many communities to look at alternative sources of water on the South Coast.

Santa Barbara is preparing to re-launch its desalination plant. Tonight, Ventura County is sponsoring a community event to look at the possibility of using the technology to tap into ocean water. The Calleguas Municipal Water District has been looking closely at the possibilities.

The ocean water desalination forum will begin at six Thursday night, in the Ventura County Board of Supervisors hearing room at the Ventura County Government Center.
