Search underway for missing Ventura County woman, Judy Wurtz of Somis

Authorities are continuing their efforts to find an elderly South Coast woman with dementia who disappeared Sunday.

With overnight temperatures in the 40’s, family members and authorities are worried about the Ventura County woman. Judy Wurtz was last seen on her family's property on Faircrest Lane in Somis around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Ventura County Sheriff’s office officials say the 76 year old woman is an avid hiker, and aside from her memory issues, is in good health. They’ve used a helicopter, K-9’s, search and rescue teams, and even a drone in their efforts to find the woman.

She stands about 5’8” tall, weighs about 150 pounds, and was last seen wearing a denim shirt, and jeans.
