A woman is dead following a paragliding accident on the South Coast.
The woman was part of a group of people paragliding from the La Cumbre Peak area in the Santa Barbara County foothills Thursday. When she failed to make it down the mountainside with other paragliders, authorities were called.
Two helicopters were called to search by air, and discovered a parachute, and the woman’s body on a rock face. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released yet.
