Details Announced About Rescheduled Satellite Launch From Central Coast

Postponed satellite launch from Vandenber Air Force Base rescheduled for this Friday

The Air Force has released details of a postponed satellite launch from the Central Coast which has been rescheduled for this week.

An Atlas V rocket carrying the WorldView-4 satellite was originally set to lift off from Vandenberg Air Force Base on mid-September. The launch was at first delayed by a minor mechanical problem, and then a brush fire on the bases pushed liftoff back by week. Then, another minor technical issue again delayed the planned liftoff from last weekend to this coming Friday.

If the weather cooperates, the launch could be visible throughout much of the region, with the launch window opening at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
