Trio Arrested For Cold Case Ventura County Murder

Authorities have just released details about the arrest of three people for a 2009 murder in Ventura County.

Prosecutors say Janice Richardson had been smothered in her Simi Valley home. Simi Valley Police detectives say the three suspects had staged the home to make it look like the 52 year old woman died of a drug overdose.

Investigators say they were suspicious about the death, and kept the case open for the last seven years. After additional investigation, Ronald and Idee Scholz were arrested last month in Idaho, and extradited to California, and Glen Sires was arrested in Simi Valley. The three are being held without the possibility of bail.
