The one-time boyfriend of a Ventura County woman has been arrested on a child abuse charge in connection with the death of her three year old son.
The Camarillo boy was taken to a hospital with injuries on September 2nd, 2014, and died two days later. Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives opened an investigation into the death of the child, who is not being publicly identified.
Ventura County detectives have been working for the last two years trying to build a case against Caleb Burrett, who now lives in Evergreen, Colorado home for the death. Working with investigators in Evergreen detectives arrested Burrett on a charge of child abuse causing great bodily or death to a child under the age of eight.
The 37 year old man is being held in a Colorado jail in lieu of a million dollars bail, pending extradition to Ventura County to stand trial.
